Do These Things Draw Any Power If Left Plugged In Without A Cable Inserted?

If It Doesn't Then What About With Cable Inserted But Not Hooked To A Phone?

If the port is powered, they will draw a little bit... if you drive your car at least once a week, probably not enough to give you any problems.

That being said, I'm pretty sure the 12V ports in our cars turn off when the car is off... so you shouldn't have any issues.

Thanks - That's What I Thought - Ports Were Not Powered When Car Is Not Running - But I Couldn't Find It In The Manuals And Wanted To Be Sure Before I Caused A Dead Battery

Our power outlets are only on in acc and run like every other Japanese car I have ever seen, German have power at all times (at least for as long as I worked on them).

Just to add that having the cord plugged in with no load connected will not draw any additional power.

I leave one plugged in at the arm rest socket at all times with an iphone plug in it just so its ready to go when i need to charge. Been doing that for 2 years now and never had a battery die. Even after being in winter storage for 4 months with the usb adapter left in it the car started fine so i cant see yours being any diffrent.

You shoudl be good to go!

Yeah, usually it's just an LED that is drawing any power that can be accounted for. I used to leave them plugged in, but I stopped doing that after I dodged the bullet with a defective charger. Something failed in the charger and shorted out. It got hot enough to start melting the shell. I didn't see any of the magic smoke, but you could smell the burning plastic. Luckily I was in the car when it happened. There was nothing plugged into the charger, so it wasn't overloaded. The charger only was plugged into the port in car.
