Question Possible damage from towing?

My car was towed today without my knowledge. The apt complex I live in was repainting the parking lot, and they towed my car to another area not far away. (I just got back from vacation last night, so never got the notice that I should park my car somewhere else today.)

My Z was backed into the space, in 1st, parking break up, and locked. So it would be hard to get to the rear wheels to tow (sidewalk immediately behind the car). I'm assuming they used a tow dolly to move it, but I have no idea.

I just drove it, and nothing seemed abnormal. I did quick walk around in near dark and didn't see any exterior damage.

However, should I be concerned about any damage that may not be immediately apparent? How bad would it be if they put the front wheels up and towed it on the rears with car in gear and parking break up?

TIA

If the back wheels didn't turn, you may have flat spots on your rear tires.

Does your apt complex have security cameras available? If so, maybe they'll let you view to see the procedure used to tow your Z.

unfortunately not. i did have one on my balcony pointing at my parking space due to some kids vandalizing my Z when i first got it, but had to remove it temporarily while they did some work on the outside of the building and haven't put it back yet, doh! speaking of, i should go put it back right now...

I am sure they would have done something similar to this. They know which cars are rear wheel drive, at least they should.

There's no way they took care. They dragged your *** out of that spot. Sue them for damages if there are any. You may not notice for a while.

Don't give them an out, ask for answers about how it was towed and don't lead them into excuses. You need it for documentation / evidence.

Look for skid marks on the pavement where you left the car at. If there are skid marks. They drug your Z. Then you have flat spots on the rear tires.

If the car was in gear and with the e-brake up, the rear wheels will not turn.

Their goal is to get the vehicle to their impound lot, though in this case, another part of the community. Regarding damages, if any, it will be hard to fight that, as you will have the burden to prove that the tow company caused damaged your vehicle, nor will they voluntarily give you any documentation if there is any at all. You also mentioned that there has been kids messing with your vehicle, so essentially, you would have to have concrete evidence backing your claim about the tow company.

This wouldn’t work, as most likely they would have re-painted the community by now, or the area where his car got towed anyway.

Not all tow company employees are this courteous nor knowledgeable about drivetrains.

The one place I worked at had a BIG forklift. We used to pick up cars and trucks with it. Used it to do an oil change on the Foreman's truck.

They might have just opened the door. I had another car towed in a similar situation he showed me how he got in in under a minute; Lost that bet, apparently 2 door cars are easy to get into.

i checked this afternoon and didn't see any flat spots on the tires or skid marks on the ground, so hopefully they did it the right way.

I had my z towed multiple times, they brake in to your car by poping your lock, there scratches from the tool you can notice on top corner where the door closes its on you cars body, then they undo the hbrake n gearing, pick up ur car from the front n move it also scratches on bottom sides of front bumper.
