Our Z,modern day classic?
Possibly some of you have caught several articles of late positioning the current
day Z(350z included) as a modern day classic. Actually,I could not agree with these writers(and there are many)more. A "classic" definition when it comes to cars usually factors in the amount made. Like, how can a vehicle that produced say,500k cars be a classic? With the Z ,I believe we have a much different or game changer classic. Yes,the Z33 came out as a 2003 model.Today's Z34 has had a few tweaks. But has the same base with the 2018 models. That is a bunch of years. Bottom line on all this hype is the Z,given the 33 or 34 can be turned in to the car of your choice in many ways. At mostly affordable prices. Cannot say that about other "classics" that basically needed to be brought to stock. Guys, realize many of you have a great opportunity with your Z. Furthermore, the VQ engine if maintained will be there for you for many miles. Design wise, both the Z's look pretty damn good. Timeless IMO. Hold on to e'm. Support vendors and suppliers that understand what a Z really is. |

Why? No secret, you can change a Z into what you want given the creativity, how-to knowledge and the bucks. Want bone stock? Track? Wide body wild? Mild? It is the car |

The Next Selection
I just hit 40K on my blue 2009 and have throughly enjoyed driving it all along the way. I came from domestic pony car world 1972-1997 Trans Ams and Formulas, the Z was a breath of freash air for me. I am leaning toward a C7 within a year but was awaiting the mid engine C8 release. While I like the Q60 as starting platform for the next Z I almost can't see Nissan backing this for lack of projected sales, and while I like the design of the 2015 Nismo its too similar to my 2009 sport pkg with a 10K or more increase. So this is what is leading me towards the C7, I know it has its flaws, every car does but I do know one thing I am keeping my 2009 370Z and will park the C7 next to it .

Z has Lots of "plus" marks, as opposed to later competitors....
No stop-start No CVT transmission No turbo from a tiny engine Off button for stability control In general, less nanny stuff. We will all miss this lack of things when they are later an enforced "standard" in all sports cars. That's what will make the Z a desirable "classic" car in the future

I said "I love me Z" NOT, "I'm making love to my Z"

I don't know if I can afford a full ZO6 but everyone tells me their worth it. How much was your 2017? The mid-engine C8 isn't going to be introduced till later this year as a late 2019 or 2020 they will be still selling the C7 through the first few years of C8 production. 70K to 150K are the cost estimates with two twin turbo multicam V8s, although they may still offer the LT1 and Cadillac may get their own model of the midship. The only two things lacking in the present C7 are a more Cadillac interior and to continue to improve the shift linkage on the 7speed manual.
