Achilles Tires

I am in the market for two rear tres and Achilles tires ads keep popping up. Does anyone have any personal reviews driving their Z on those tires?

If you just daily your car and don't track it, they look fine. I would personally invest in a name brand. If you don't want to spend big, look into the Sumitomo summer tire since they are essentially Dunlops.

Lots of good options on Tirerack too. You can find a Tirerack installer and save about half off normal mounting/balancing costs.

I had them on my 07 Z. Price-wise, they cost about $100/tire. They don’t last long and are really noisy. I drove normal and didn’t track/race the 350Z, but got maybe 18k out of those tires.

If you need something quick, cheap, and temporary, they are an option.

Kind of strange having a tire named Achilles. Almost a prediction of what your car’s weak point will be.

I had Sumitomo on my FR-S and they were great.

You can get Federal tires for pretty much the same price. I bought a set for my Supra because they were cheap and didn't want to roast through expensive tires at 750whp. I'll never buy a different brand of tire other than Mickey Thompsons for the street after seeing how well these perform at my power level. RS-RR in the rear and RS-R in the front. I don't expect them to last that long but at $120 a tire I could care less for a non daily driver. I'll be switching to those for my Z whenever the all seasons wear out.
