Does anyone currently have the Nissan powertrain, silver, or gold plan for their 370? https://owners.nissanusa.com/content...s/Extended.pdf If so how has the claim experience been? Also, what was the out the door cost for whatever month/mileage plan you purchased? |

I daily mine and put on about 30 miles a day so I want that extra piece of mind. Plus you get roadside and trip interruption.. if I can get the gold for $1200 then it's worth it

I got the extended warranty, gold I assume. Took it in 3 days before it expired to have the engine looked at ( blocked oil passage was causing it to constantly hunt for an idle speed), they did a full inspection on the car anyway, fixed the engine, ended up also replacing my tranny for free because it was making odd noises, in addition to all the bushings that were worn. Got a brand new tranny for free when I couldnt tell anything was wrong with it so I'd say it was worth it. Total cost was over 11k in repair.

I have the gold as well; bought it as an overlay on the CPO warranty. Nothing in the car has broken yet, so I haven't used it.

$1200? Wow, I paid $2500 for mine, suposedly the best they had, 70k additional miles + 5 years. I feel ripped off. I had 38k miles, 2014 sport/touring.
I was even thinking about trying to get a refund on it because I want to add some intakes/exhausts + tune on it, dont even know if it will ever be an issue... |

As with all insurance the companies sell it because they make lots of $.
Sure there will the cases where someone saves $ due to repairs needed but many more end up getting it and never using it. We (wife and I) decided years ago to never get the warranty and just buy new stuff when things break, usually newer models by then anyway. Only exception to this 'rule' is my niece with a cellphone curse, the kid could break one in a lifeproof case with a double layer of bubble wrap. In this type of situation get the warranty... |

I have the gold preferred and boy was it the greatest idea ever. Unlike most people on the forum I've had every possible "common issue" that comes with the Z. Most people experience 1 or 2 things like steering wheel lock failure or CSC failure but I've taken my Z to the dealership more times than I can count. It's 7 years, 100k miles with 100$ deductible. I paid something like 1500 give or take. I don't remember anymore but I do know I've exceeded that in repairs so it paid its self off already. I've only had a few times where they'll play it off like with the csc they said if that wasn't the issue it would cost me 4K and needed my permission to proceed. lol. Can't scare me Nissan! I figure out the problem as much as I can so that if they ever give me any bs like that I know what's wrong with the car so they can't screw me.
