Default weird yellowish stuff under the hood

Hey guys, might be a stupid question, but ever since I got my car there has been this weird yellowy stuff around battery and brake fluids on metal parts. It peels off but didn't want to go any further without asking here if it's some anti rust ****. Any idea wtf is this and should i remove it and have a beautiful engine bay?

It looks like corrosion protection that has been sprayed on.

Yes, it's that shitty old wax gunk they apply to the car. I suppose it protects, but it looks sooo ugly.

Oh so it is probably rust protection With enough pressure i can peel it off with my fingernail, but i'll faaster break my fingernails than remove it all Do you guys have any ideas what product i can use to easily wipe it off ?

ive used WD40, RC motor spray, people have used contact cleaner (similar to MAF cleaner), googone

googone smellz like shitt though..

if da chemistry da same brand from brand those should work.

Looks a bit like Fluid Film to me. If that's what it is, can be removed with warm water and a detergent with degreaser. I've used purple power and simple green brand degreasers and a pressure washer with good results. But those are pretty powerful, corrosive I believe, so use with caution.
