They're not cast iron. They are not your typical "exhaust manifold" like an old Chevy small block. The 370Z uses a tubular manifold, actually a header. It's either steel or stainless steel. And I think it's an equal length design.

Ok thats what i was wondering cause ive had several different people tell me they're cast iron, but when i had one of them off the other day the metal is shiny like stainless with a little bit of rust build up on some of the surfaces. I always thought cast iron had a rough finish to it even when new. Anybody can confirm?

Those pictured do not look like equal length headers.

If I'm wrong it won't be the first time though.

These are equal length ...

AGAIN... They are either steel or stainless. It's pretty darn obvious.

Generally speaking you can tell stainless from non stainless by using a magnet. Yes there are exceptions, but high grade stainless steels are generally not magnetic.

Confirmed (cast iron is often cast in sand molds). And, because of it's brittleness, will be much thicker than the stainless ("regular" steel would oxidize - see the flanges) tubes of the Z manifold.

Thanks everyone for the responses, just had a lot of people telling me they were cast iron cause i had to have an o2 bung welded back on after it broke off while trying to change a bad o2 sensor and everyone was saying to get another manifold cause the weld wouldnt hold cause "the manifolds are cast iron"

With cast iron, brazing works well in most applications. Cast iron is difficult (but not impossible) to weld.
