Some Questions about the 370z
Popped in to get some owners opinions on the 370 as a daily option.
I've always liked the 350/370s performance and looks wise, so I'm looking into switching up cars. At the moment I have a 16' Veloster Turbo which really isn't all too exciting for me seeing as I've learned I prefer more torque than back roads driving, so I'm looking at the 350/370. Basically, just asking if the 370 is really a viable daily, or if I would be better off keeping the VT as a daily and going with a 350 project? I would want to do a bit of modding if I went with the 370, but keep it semi reliable. I live in the Pacific NW of US so when get rain 9/12 months. Let me know if you want more information, and I really appreciate your guys' opinions. |

I had 2005 350z ... with turbo as a daily driven car for 5 years no major issues then sold it and bought 2015 370z nismo .. added the GTM supercharger and it's my daily driver now as well... so far pretty good ... but would depend on other factors .... kids/possibility of kids in the future..... if your family man and have situations where you need more room .... I also have second car for family things kids/shopping/long family vacations ...

Other than the rain, what is your threshold for "viability"?
Comfort level? Road noise? Smooth rides? Some people consider it too noisy, ride is a bit bumpy (but that depends more on your suspension and tires), and comfort level varies with your size, seat setup, and type of seats in the different trims. I've personally adapted to the road noise, and bumpiness from the stiffer suspension on the Nismo, so to me I'm perfectly fine with it as a DD. |

DD for 5+ years and 84K miles
But I'm in Texas, not the Pacific NW. I drive it in the rain, although I would prefer not to. With the higher probability of someone else hitting you in inclement weather, I might consider a beater.

DD, although just 3 months. There's really no issue with the car. It's just everyone else, depending on where you live. Living in a crowded city where apparently everyone drives like *** and assumes the next driver is also an automatic is annoying, especially at stop-and-go hills.
With that much rain I'd think a lightweight would be more fun. |

Having the hatch space and rear seats definitely makes the Veloster a more suitable daily driver. Plus it's probably better on gas and more comfortable. I'd say make the Z your project and keep the veloster to daily. |
