Just picked up a 2009 370z!
As the title states I just bought an 09 370z! It's in pretty nice shape for its age, although it has 131k miles on it. It runs really well I've already put about 500 miles on it in the last week, it has been maintained and taken care of. But I'm looking for suggestions on maintenance, I will be changing all fluids first.. Should I go ahead and do spark plugs..etc? What about o2 sensors? Just looking for recommendations.
The only issue I've had was the AC compressor froze up and the car would stall out, so I ordered a new compressor and will be getting that in this weekend. It was fine before I bought it and fine for the 200 mile drive home, and with just my luck it was a problem once I was home. As long as the climate control or AC stays off the car runs fine and has no problems. And I would post a picture but I'm sure all of you have seen a black on black stock 370z more than enough times. |

O2 is easy to get to, and would only need to be replaced if they are an issue.
Do you know what, if anything, was done to the car previously?

Fluids are an easy change. Check out the rotors/pads. Apparently plugs may be a 100k thing, so hopefully they were changed?

I would look in glove compartment for records or call the guy back and asking him about the maintenance. Maintenance should have been the main topic before buying? Did you check carfax? Welcome to the Z family. If its stock that sometimes mean he wasn't hard on the engine. Look around the engine bay for dates of maintenance and tire dates on rubber. Other than oil/fluids most maintenance doesn't happen till about 110K miles(not a mechanic) I do know the MT 370z had clutch problems.

Would've been nice if they would've recalled it 5.5 years ago when we realized it was a serious problem. I never had that issue. But I'll be taking mine in since its a recall.

Just picked up a 2009 370z!
Having been through this all myself just a year ago when i picked up my 09 with similar miles to yours op i would strongly suggest going through everything. Change out all fluids including the differential and transmission if it's manual. Also if possible check to make sure the catalytic converters aren't clogged by hooking up a scantool that can read both long term fuel trim and short term fuel trim and will give you a read out of engine load value. Having a high negative long term and high positive short term fuel trim value along with low engine load at WOT means you have a clogged catalytic converter. Oh and also definitely change out those spark plugs, mine were still functional when i picked up my car, but it would take a little bit on the long side to start the car until i changed them out, oh and also probably a good idea to change out the battery if it looks a little on the older side
