Default A/C always on even A/C indicator does not illuminate

Outside temperature was 23 deg, and I noticed the air blowing from the vent was ice cold and the compressor was operating even I disabled the "AUTO". Seems like the A/C was running in the background even the A/C indicator was not illuminated.

My 09 civic has the same feature, but it can be disabled. Not sure if 370z can be done in the same manner.

I just want fresh ambient air to be drawn into the cabin without any temperature setting like 22, 23, 24, 25 deg...... This temp control seems very annoying to me.

Details should be in the Owner's Manual.

IIRC, the A/C is enabled whenever the HVAC is turned on because the cabin is small and gets humid quickly - the moisture condenses in the A/C instead of on the windows.

I have exactly the same thing happen from time to time, i.e., A/C light off, but A/C is on.

All you have to do is cycle through the settings so the light is off, and the A/C will be off ... for that drive at least.

Not sure what causes this bug, but the workaround is quite easy.

Are you sure you don't have the HVAC set to defrost or defrost/foot?

Even with the blower switch completely off mine will trickle either cold or hot, where ever the temperature is set to. I had my dash apart the last couple days and took the car out. With no controls I couldn't shut anything off so had to put up with a bit on very unnecessary heat, as the case was this time.

I actually rarely use my ac.. it draws a ton of power. That and I prefer windows down anyhow.

Bottom line, it always trickles out a bit. And yes my front window can get foggy about the bottom reasonably often too. Right above the cowl vents. I assume hot air escaping from Underhood.

I do not even drive my Z when it is 23 degrees. My Pilot Super Sports are too hard when it is that cold.

Very dangerous...
