Default Fender savers/work mats/covers

What does everyone use to protect the fenders, front bumper, etc. when working in the engine bay? I found a kit specific to the 350Z on thezstore I'm sure would be fine for the Z34 as well as a Datsun mat, but was wondering if there's more out there that would sport either logos or any Nissan related branding.

I masking tape my MF towels at times to protect the paint while working on my cars.

Nothing. If the surface is not clean, laying a towel or whatever on it still has the potential to scratch. When you lean on the towel, the towel moves, moving towel will flash the dirt and scratch the paint. Who washes there car before there wrench? I know I don't. I just make sure not wear clothes with zippers, buttons, ECT that can do some major scratching.

Sometimes if need be I wash the engine bays of cars that I will be working on so as not to get dirt in the engine if I'm going to be taking things off like the valve covers, front cover and intake manifold. But, as far as the use of fender covers I do use them as to not have the dirty air hose for my air tools blemish the paint.

Hey wiseguy.......wouldn't someone with an extra large MF towel know the concept of dirt and towel? A simple qd like kenchan said would do the trick.

I just climb into the engine bay if I have to lean over that far

It shouldn't be an issue if you are a six footer or better!

A little Z1 Black Friday shopping yielded a nice surprise. These are great! Queue Stepbrothers quote about getting bunk beds. Only 7 years since I posted.
