Interesting read. I think it's ridiculous that high end cars like BMW and Audi think that this is normal, and that you should top off burned oil on every tankful.

I had a 2014 WRX that I purchased brand new. Followed the recommended break in process. It was burning about 0.5quart of oil every 3500 miles. The dealer said that was normal. I told them I never had a car that eats oil even when they are older let alone a brand new car. I eventually sold it and purchased a 2014 370z. I wished I had test drove the Z first.

my STI is new and it burned about 1/4 quart so far. its written in the manual to check and add oil.

my Z and G were the same way until about 15000 miles and it stopped burning oil since.

I have 10k on my 2016 Z,it burned 3/4 of a quart per 5k oil change.Hope this is normal and possibly will get better.

These are not THATTTT bad... Also, dvboy, the Z takes 5.125 - 5 1/8 quarts of oil. So if you are only putting 5 when you change, you could think it's burning more than it really is
