Bought my car with 3.6k miles with no oil change on carfax
I have been researching for a few hours on this forum but have found many mixed answers. I'm guessing I should change the oil ASAP can I use synthetic now or is it recommended to take it to the dealer? NowI have 4.2k miles

Yes change the oil. You can run synthetic just fine. if you can change your own oil, do it you don't need the dealer for this
