Subframe Bushings

A while ago my dealer told me my subframe bushings were leaking and needed to be replaced for $2,100. I called a local mechanic that specializes in Z cars and they quoted me $900 labor, but couldn't locate the part. I'd like to just order the parts on my own and go the $900 route. Can anyone recommend some subframe bushings? I was looking at these SPLs but, I'm kinda embarrassed to admit, I didn't even know what subframe bushings were until they went bad so I don't know what to buy.

What factors should I worry about? Am I going to get a rougher ride and/or more road noise with some bushings over others?

Subframe bushing going bad?? You sure they didn't say differential bushings? ? I don't think the rear subframe bushings have fluid in them.

More than likely they are talking about this bushing:

Solid:

Its a common issue with the 350/370z's. The dealer will just replace the entire subframe because the diff bushing isn't serviceable from the factory.

I'm pretty sure that's what they're talking about. The mechanic mentioned having the choice between solid or polyurethane. Thanks so much, I'd probably have ended up buying the wrong ones. I think I'm going to go with the polyurethane. Any reason to go with the solid?

Not really. Especially if its your daily driver. The polyurethane will keep the noise down compared to solid mounts, but make a difference when it comes to wheel hop.

as someone else mentioned, it was a common issue on 350Z's. not sure about the 370Z's, but my 07 350Z had this issue, and didn't notice anything different.

Ok so ill chime in here, I have pressed that bushing out, while the frame was up and it as a pain in the ***. If you have the time and the resources drop the whole thing and do it right. If not...well then get a good press kit and work it but it took flame, a saw blade from hell and a press kit to get it and probably 10 hours of struggle with it in.

The aftermarket bushing works great and no issues. I put the stock side diff bushings back tho when the wife told me "no more racecar" while driving down the autobahn. No point tho if you can do this to buy a whole new sub frame.

THAT ALL SAID> you can sometimes get a full subframe for 500-600 and the work to swap parts is actually easy, just time consuming.

That is what a dealership does to remedy the issue. Drop the subframe and replace the whole piece when the bushing is the only thing that needs replacement. It is a quicker buck.

A shop that specializes in Nissan and Infiniti will be able to do this for 500 - 550 aftermarket parts and labor.
