Swirls and such won't require new paint. Use the cost of repairing/repainting the mirror to negotiate a lower price.
Or walk. I probably would if the scratch requires more than a good buffing. Quote:

I took it to a body shop that is located near an Infiniti dealer. They told me they work on Infinitis all the time, so I assumed I would be safe. As far as body shops and dealers go, I trust almost none of them. They are all about making the quickest/easiest dollar possible. Quality work is rare to find. |

![]() But the fact is they had to prep the car for application by polishing it. And they did a terrible job the first time. The second time was much better overall except for two panels. The third time was even better but there was still one long scratch on the trunk lid. I made them acknowledge that it was there and then drove off without letting them fix it.
