Default Vdc light stays on after steering wheel swap

Swapped out my steering wheel for one of carbon fiber elements wheel. Very nice btw

But now as soon as I drove off, the Vdc traction light came on and it's staying in after about 8 miles of driving.
Any input?

Not sure I understand. I didn't tape anything. Which coil are you referring to? Didn't notice that in the diy

zero dark u figure it out yet?

u turned the coil by accident when you did the steering swap most likely. this means that your yaw control is sensing that the steering wheel is turned even though the car is going straight. wat u need to do is remove the steering wheel and turn the spiral cable disc (coil ) either to the right or left by 360 degrees until the light not longer comes on.

no idea how many turns, no idea which direction. this is why u needed to tape the coil as soon as you took the steering wheel off the column to prevent it from turning. why ur diy did not say that, i dont know. it's a vital part of the swap.

ive done steering wheels many times, never got the VDC.

wat? i didnt send u any picture, my PM is turned off thanks to mishuko..

is this the DIY you looked at?
DIY: Steering Wheel Removal

if so, do u see the black disc under the steering wheel with the receptacle pins sticking out and "EU" ? dat's wat u probably turned by accident. u needed to tape it temporarily so dat it does not turn by accident.

off-topic but..

"Sixth, grab both sides of the wheel and pull towards your body, it should come off with little effort." .. and smack u in the face.

best to leave the center nut on loosely while you pull the steering wheel so dat the wheel dont come flying at u when it suddenly comes loose.

could be. i didnt yank out the coil to do the swap so dont know wat's under there. all you needed to do was tape it so it doesnt turn and then just put the new boss on, wire ur horn switch, place new steering wheel, and tighten down.
