Pretty elaborate plan. I'm sure it will work fine. Me...I changed my oil, Mobil 1 with K&N filter, at 5000 miles. Just did it again at 10,000 miles. Must be an OK plan...my car is running fine.

Silly question, but did you get a service plan with your 370Z when you purchased it? If by chance you did, I think it would be wise to have them do the oil changes. That way if there is ever a warranty claim on the vehicle, you have irrefutable proof that maintenance was performed on the vehicle. Just my two cents!

Good plan. I changed out the factory fill at a little over 1200 miles for the Nissan Ester Oil and soon realized that it was overpriced and while not bad oil, not much better than a good synthetic blend. I have run the Redline 5W-30 or the discontinued Pennzoil Ultra (not the new Ultra Platinum) with very favorable Blackstone reports since the 5K mile mark. I change every 5K miles. I use the Mobil 1 Size 110 filter which holds a little more oil, but the WIX filters have a good reputation as well.
I buy a case of Redline and a few extra quarts for top-off oil from Amazon and do my own oil changes so I know it's done right. Keep an eye on consumption. My Z burned about 1.5 quarts per 5000 miles until about the 35K mark, then it seemed to settle down and now only burns 1/2 to 3/4 quarts between changes. |
