I bought the JWT Clutch / Flywheel Combo Nissan 370Z 09+ Z34 Single Disc (https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart...on.php?II=2964)

And then My transmission gave out, it was under warranty so I was having it replaced. Now the dealerships tells me I have the wrong clutch and that my only option is to installed the Nissan Stock Clutch.

Are they trying to BS me? OR do did I get the wrong clutch?

They can argue that your clutch/flywheel caused the failure and in a strong position to do so. Sorry bro.

It maybe more than likely due to the warranty.

They don't warranty aftermarket parts.

Double check the parts# to make sure you they sent you the right parts.

If they did according to cpz? Dealers trying to make you buy a clutch with the excuse sorry don't fit.

Yea I checked with CPZ they said it should be fine. The dealership says transmission is not alining with the clutch because its the wrong one.

But they said they took it out for a while and it still made a noise, does the car make a different noise with a different clutch?

I dont fuking know anymore, im so sick of this ****.

I think they're blowing smoke to get you to buy their oem clutch at a jacked up price. But you might be in a bind here since they're performing the labor under warranty they can refuse to install any non factory parts.

It's perfectly reasonable. The dealership doesn't want to be responsible for installing an aftermarket item they have no experience with. I'm sure you could probable convince them to install it but they don't have too do it if they don't want. Look at it this way, your getting a free new oem clutch installed, and you can sell it later when you install your clutch.

Maybe they are just noticing the chatter from the light weight flywheel. The stock flywheel is dual mass. Light weight flywheels are known to have chatter and noise, especially at idle. I don't know if that is specifically true with the set up you installed, but in general that's the way it is.

If you have a lightweight flywheel, thats where the noise is coming from. Tell them to shove it.

Once this is over with, you need to find a better dealer. Is this the one that quoted you some obscene amount to replace the clutch before?

"better dealer" they exist?? Not in my neck of the woods...all crap, who have zero knowledge about the cars they sell. I have however found one decent service station, sadly for a car I sold this year. Went to look at a Hellcat the other day see if I could get a test drive, he kept insisting I wanted to see a r/t hemi. I was like seriously, you havent heard of a hellcat yet and you work for Dodge.
Anyway...hellcat sounded pretty freaking amazing in person once they figured out I was talking about the car in the middle of the showroom. Aftermarket exhausts are going to absolutely rip clothing off of innocent civilians

yah, if the repair is under warranty i'd let the dealer just do the repairs and do the aftermarket clutch later.

its not like the factory clutch sucks unless ur fi'ed i suppose.

Is the noise bad though? Can the clutch damage the transmission?

NO, this is a different dealership.

I almost want to just say, put in the new transmission with the same clutch it had. I'll pay the 50 dollar deductible, and that's it. I will pick it up.

UPDATE: I just called, he says that no dealership has a pressure plate. He is telling me how rare they are and that he is having to get his tech from japan to send one.

Ughhhhhhhhh

The noise is caused by the lightweight singe-mass flywheel. The stock flywheel is a dual-mass dampened flywheel that is designed to keep the obnoxiously loud transmission quieter (aka it doesn't transmit as much gear noise). The noise will never *cause* any damage, its just annoying to some. Assuming you have the proper clutch/pressure plate/flywheel for the car, they wont damage the transmission.

Tell them to fix and replace your trans, put your expensive *** clutch and flywheel back on, and to properly **** off.
