Can someone please tell my why the service manual in the UK calls for a much higher ( miles ) oil change interval compared to US service manual? I am aware the 13 or 14+ 370z in US have changed to 5K mile intervals.

I very much doubt the oil is different there to here LOL. I was hoping someone could answer this question, as its bugging me.

'Cos the roads in the UK are so congested, no UK driver can give their car a spanking??

Seriously, this sounds like marketing driven Bull-tish to me ... Marketing overriding the engineers for some ill-defined marketing purpose.

To me, oil is the cheapest thing you can put thru the engine ... mine gets changed every before every track event and/or every 5000km - might be a bit overboard but engine longevity is all about regular oil-changes with a qualify oil (I use Motul in he Z24 btw)

I dont believe my original question has anything to do with those usual what type of oil is best threads.. Or what viscosity etc..

My question was, why in England it calls for I believe 12-15K mile change but here 5K mile change?

I believe the guy above, he seems to think its marketing. But curious as to why Nissan says somethign different as the engines are the same, as is the oils?

I just checked a UK forum. Their service book calls for 9000 mile oil changes.
