most people want a meatier tire on the rear. having less rubber on the back can look odd

Damn that was a heavy rear wheel on the 350. With the 370z you would still have to keep the overall diameter the same for the electronics to play nice. I don't understand the point of going smaller only in the front other then to reduce unsprung weight such as for drag cars.

Yes VDC as was mentioned. 18" look great all round on the 370z to me and this coming from a guy that had 22's on a car at one point (wtf, was I thinking).

Sometimes it messes with the speedometer and fuel economy gauges as well, but that may not be much of a concern.
And for Shotta, were they spinners?

I feel you man, I've been in a personal crisis with wheel sizes on my Z. Running on 20s are brutal, yet at the same time, they fill up the wheel well almost too perfectly. Running on 18s on the other hand.. It just seems 'off'

I know some cars electronic control will freak out if the front and rear wheels are spinning at different speeds such as on a dyno. Might be an issue with different sized wheels. But if you think it looks good do it and post some pictures!

No but they were chrome! I put them on my 300c srt8 but took them off after 3 months because they were killing the performance big time. I don't know how heavy they were but mounting them was a back breaking experience.
When I went back to the factory srt8 wheels it felt like I added a supercharger due to the weight loss.
