Default Question about Engine rev cutoff for the 370Z

Just get my amuse R1 exhaust installed today. wanna hear the sound of it.

When I put the car on Neutral and hit the gas, my car won't rev past 5000rpm

Is that normal?

Thanks.

Put the car in gear then try it. The reason why you can't is due to safety to make sure the engine doesn’t over heat.

Revving the engine up high with no load on it is not great which is why it is designed to not let you fling it to the redline in neutral. Put it in gear and have someone hold the wheels to keep it from moving.

Not sure what your 'vic redlines at, but it might have a higher redline and fuel cut regardless.
