Lowering & Spacers for Nismo
Hey guys,
I have a 2013 Nismo and want to add spacers and lower the car slightly. I'm not a big fan of the front tires having more space between the top of the tire and fender. I haven't seen many pictures of a Nismo lowered with spacers. Are there any of you out there who would be willing to share what you did to your car? M

Lowered on Swift Springs & Koni Yellows with 20mm spacers up front and 15mm in the rear. Stock tire size up front and 305/30/19 on back. Will eventually swap out the 15s for 10s in the back to get rid of some negative camber. And before you ask: no, my front splitter is not touching the curb.
EDIT: Not sure if these pics were from before I switched back to stock in the front (245/40) or when they were (265/35)...

So how do the Swift springs compare to the Nismo springs in handling, stiffness, and ride quality?

Mine is lowered on KW V1 coilovers. My wheel spec is
19x9.5 +17 front 19x11 + 10 rear Nismo wheels spec is 19X9.5 +40 front 19X10.5 +23 rear So it's like adding 23mm spacers up front and 20mm in the back.

I put my Swift springs on yesterday. I noticed a marked difference in ride. Before the car felt jouncy. Just constantly bouncing around but now with the Swifts, the car feels planted and stable. The car feels and rides much better. I drove on the same road and the difference is really noticeable. The was always a handler but now with the increased stability, I feel more confident in braking and turning.

For you guys on aftermarket springs on your Nismos, are you changing out the struts too or installing the springs on the nismo struts? I would always buy aftermarket struts when I would install lowering springs but it seems a lot of people DO NOT swap out struts on their Nismos. Am I right? Would aftermarket springs on nismo struts reduce the life of the struts?

I actually like how my Nismo rides right now, it's pretty comfortable but just looking for a mild drop. Looking into the tein s-techs but I was wondering if it's okay to drop these on the Nismo struts or if I should invest in aftermarket struts too... |

I had mine dropped on tein's and I did not change out the struts. The ride was much tamer than the stock springs. You will need rear camber arms and toe bolts. I agree with forza regarding coil overs. I have been lowered on Fortune 500 with Swift springs and the ride is way better than stock or tein's. You just have to get the supporting hardware to make it all work.

Excellent shot and set up on your car Savoy49. I've got the Swift springs installed, just need to buy the 15mm spacers. If your photo has enough pixel density, consider blowing it up to 2' x 3', framing it, and putting it on your living room wall. Love the back-drop and photo angle on your ride.
