which setup would sound better?

So before I propose the two different options, I would like feedback only from those who either have this exact setup, or have personally heard a car with this setup.

MY CAR HAS THE ART TEST PIPES AND STILLEN GEN 3'S.

Option 1. Remove resonator from factory catback.

Option 2. AAM short-tails.

I have heard videos of both setups, but have not heard either in person.

AAM Short tails + TP = Bleeding Ears

I have stock pipes with the short tails and I can be heard from about a mile away according to a friend. The exhaust is a LOT louder and deeper in person. I think there is a member here who put AAMs on with TP and took them off immediately because it was just too loud. It's already hard enough to have a conversation at 80 with road noise and drone.

Option 3: get regular, or regularly resonated TPs

If that isn't an option, just take the resonators out of your current exhaust

Do not cut Resonators off your stock Exhaust, I did that and it sounded terrible! So I went and got an FI Catback...

I don't understand the short tail craze.. I've heard it before in person and sounds like absolute crap... its so raspy,... there is no distinct exhaust note, just loud raspy fart can sound.

It's because the sound of an exhaust is 100% subjective. Everyone that has heard my car has loved it. I love it and that's the most important thing.

I guess I will add my two cents since I have done these options with short tails on a stock exhaust. First off, any of the options in combination with short tails will be loud!!!! Just short tails and stock cats are loud but tolerable if you like loud. There will be rasp and drone no matter what you do, but you can moderate it the best with this setup by changing the RPMs slightly. Now if you add ART pipes it will be very loud. You will get notice by everyone and when the system gets warmed up, let just say the cops don't have to guess where you are. I got way to much attention and you might as well do a stereo delete mod as well. Long rides will require ear plugs to deal with the drone and road noise. ART pipes alone on a stock exhaust are just slightly louder than stock. Not much of a difference at all. I sold my short tails and bought the AAM true dual exhaust and it's just right IMHO. There is very little drone and rasp and it is loud when you want it to be. The bonus with going with a full exhaust is you will get more horse power and torque. I hope this helps.

If you like the sound of AAM products I would check into there s line series as it will provide you with several different options. Just shoot Khoi a PM and he will give you the low down. He is very responsive and has provided excellent customer service to many here on the forum.

neither, get a ARK DT-S. but dont ruin it by putting nasty wheezy raspy huffy puffy HFC downpipes on it though. DTS isnt god awful loud, has a low grrrr, with no drone or hiss. Im afraid to say its imo gotten FI beaten as well, since the arks sound is a little deeper. Get it w/o the HF cats or test pipes though, those just make every exhaust every made sound like raspyass
