ATTn: lowered nismo front bumper owners!
Edit: I currently have an AIT nismo style front bumper
I'm thinking about installing a oem nismo front for better front ground clearance and was wondering if any one can tell me if the clearance is okay with a nismo front that's lowered. Can you tell me how many inches in clearance you have in the front that works well for daily driving? I currently have KW variant 3s and it can be adjusted so looking for opinions before I make the purchase! Last edited by DJcuetip; 04-07-2013 at 03:58 PM. |

vs non nismo bumper? You will have less ground clearance with a nismo bumper I think. The fact that it is longer doesn't help either.

Having a lowered Nismo for a DD would be a PITA! I have MAYBE 4 inches of ground clearance up front. I have to go at angles on inclines/declines, some parking lots I just can't get into, mechanics have a hard time or even sometimes can't get my car on a lift.... ect ect. Luckily my Nismo isn't a DD, otherwise I would have to raise it up. How low are you planning on going OP?
Just to give you an idea how much clearance I have-

You'll have less than 4", and since it's a few inches longer, you'll be WAYYYYY more prone to scraping

I currently have an AIT nismo style front bumper and because the design is slightly different and more aggressive then nismo, the sides of the front bumper sit pretty low especially because I'm dropped on coils.
My 09 only has 5k miles on it so I plan on either getting an OEM or nismo front bumper so I can drive it more. The body shop here quoted me $800 for a stock front bumper, paint, install. I was thinking of going this route and then possibly getting a lip later on.. Or going straight nismo front |

Is the sport chin spoiler lower than the nismo bumper? I scrape that thing to hell. I wonder if the nismo actually has MORE clearance because it doesn't have that piece on it.

The Nismo will scrape much more than the sport, on the sport its mostly the rubber chin spoiler itself which is not a bog deal at all, on the Nismo it's the back hard plastic diffuser that will scrape. It's not too big of a deal as it is unseen, but it will gouge it up bad on rolling rubs or steep driveways! The good news is this piece is removable and replaced easily! But it costs like $350.

I'm at stock height. I just replaced my lower black fascia because I caught a small curb at my last trackday. The new replacement piece is already scrapped up, and I only put about a 100 miles on it. In the pictures, you can see the damage on the old one. The new piece is about $600. from the dealer. I got this on-line for $380.

Another option is a sports bumper with a nismo lip....it really sits nice and Is 2 inch higher (yes higher) than the sport aero plastic lip...I used to always scrap that and im not lowered. I'm very happy with the whole Nissan S-tune kit, but I've always liked the Oem Nismo kit too!!

I'm running Swift springs on my Nismo, and have @ 3 1/2"-4" on the sides, and @ 5" in the center. I haven't had any issues around town, w/ the exception of getting too close to curbing in parking spaces, which wasn't an issue before the Swift's went on....

I just did a conversion and just noticed this. Looks like the last rivet on both sides popped out. And yes coming from a regular bumper w a lip kit i think this one scrapes a bit more lowered on swifts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
