Hi all. Since I live in California I must display a front plate. I found the bracket in the trunk, and after some searching it appears that it requires 2 3/8 holes to be drilled in the front in install. WTF? that's not happening!
I got an aftermarket tow eye since the original was missing in annodized red to match the red cailpers I painted. I drilled a 1/2 inch hole in the plate (not the car), right above the "O" in California. I unscrewed the eye, put on the plate, and screwed on the eye. I bent the plate a bit to match the contour of the lip. This makes me more happy than holes in the car for sure. It meets the permanently attached requirement. It's clearly visable. I'll try and post a photo, but I'm sure you can visualize it anyway. |
