Split decision
Hi guys
I'm currently in the market for a new DD that can also double as a weekend toy. I have about 50K to spend and I'm looking at a Nissan 370Z touring sport package and a Camaro SS 2LT package both are about 43,000 sticker price and I assume they will be close to 50k out the door. Seeing how the Camaro has 100hp more than the Z I just want to pick your brains and see why you guys went with the Z and not a used Cayman or new American Muscle Car |

I looked at Camaros and Mustangs when car shopping and decided on the Z.
Not enough backseat in Mustangs and Camaros, so why bother? Sure they have more HP but they are also heavier and the suspensions didn't feel as good to me as the Z. Dat azz - I think the retro-ish Camaros and Mustangs look great but the Z looks even better. Insurance is reasonable, at least for me. Not sure what it costs to maintain Cs/Ms but the Z isn't cheap by any means. I'm having a hard time finding a Nissan service department that doesn't have their heads two feet up their a$$. I'm very happy with my 370Z as a car but, because of the lack of competent service in my area, will probably go with another brand next time.

I also looked at the camaro, and mainly for the reasons stated above by SouthArk370Z, the Z felt more nimble, and precise than the others. That 100 horse will do you well in a straight line, but to me personally, thats not a fun drive.
Besides the fact that on the way home from driving the camaro, I saw 87 of them in a 15 mile drive. It wasn't that hard of a choice. By the way, the Z is soo much sexier than the Camaro IMHO.

I havent put a final decision yet myself as im still saving so I can hopefully pay for whatever I choose in full. However I'm leaning towards the z due to I owned a camaro ss and transam before I loved its straight line power but wanted something that looked alittle less muscle type and the asian girls didnt like it and i went threw that phase where thats what I wanted...still in it haha. the 350z got me hooked and now I need to move on to a 370z. I'm going off rarity I drove from Dallas to el paso and I counted how many mustangs, camaros, corvettes and either 350z's or 370z's. To El Paso I saw roughly I can't remember the exact numbers but I posted it when it was fresh 15+ mustangs(05 and newer), 15+ camaros(2010+), about 10 corvettes (2006+), and 0 Z's
Return trip was about the same but I saw 1 350z and 1 370z. If I want to be like everyone else and cheaper parts i'd go for the camaro or mustang But me personally I'd like to drive something that not everyone else has so I'm sticking with the Z and maybe a turbo or supercharger to have the best of both worlds. Also I think a fully loaded mustang gt or camaro would have much better interior tech then the z from what I've been shopping around, if thats what could change your mind. |

Im on my third z, had two 350's and just bought a 370 in september. My last 350z i had 70,000 miles on it, and not a single problem with it until some A**hole rear ended me going 45mph while i was stopped at red light. Was time to buy a new one and i didn't even have to think about what to get next. Straight to looking for a 370. The camaro's and mustang have more powerfull motors, but like everyone else stated where i live you see just as many of those as you do camry's. Also not a big fan of the retro american muscle look. I love 2 seaters, and the feeling of the car wrapped around me. Its powerfull enough out of the box to start, handles good and can be modded for more. Also in my opinion is the best looking car for its price.

Here we go,
1st on here we are going to push you to the Z, why you ask? simple we love our cars! 2nd If you go to a camaro forum same thing, they will push you to the Camaro. 3rd Camaro may have a few more HP, BUT! they need to be put on a diet. 4th Nothing is as sexy as the Z. 5th why and the hell do you want someone telling you what to drive? can you not make up your own mind?? 6th but not least anything... and yes I mean ANYTHING will be better then the Honda you are driving now..... Also you are more then welcome to stay on here no matter what car you end up getting, witch is one if not the best forum on the web!

the best decision would be a z...
a camaro ss is a nice car.. power to weight ratio... z wins plus with a camaro, you dont go fast, you roll slow top down.. nothing is as easy to drift as a z parts arent as cheap for any other car but JDM. its a total fun car lastly maintenance is goin to be light on the pocket which means more for car parts. |

1-Too many mustangs around, an exclusive one just too expensive
2-hubby refused to work on a mustang WHEN it broke ... We have an F-150 3- Camaros just plain too big 4-dependability of Nissan (japanese) (i wanted this to be a one time purchase, no intention of trading or selling) 5- Z styling is OMG Sexy. 6- very few around, seeing another one in my area is cause for Good luck with your choice and as a few others mentioned, you are welcome here whatever you choose. This is a great forum with great people.
