Default '09 Roadster Touring (Black Cherry)

Hey guys, I've owned my 370z since this past March. I've loved driving it but I'm fixing the top on my own (got it cheap and like tinkering so I'm enjoying it, parts to repair are all frame pieces except one hydraulic arm end needs to be reattached or I just need to replace the one hydraulic ram... rather not because I'd need to bleed the system and all that), so I've been enjoying the nice weather lately.

I've recently had to do the fuse trick because the push start was stuck in 'lock' mode. So I had to ground the pin to the metal frame, put it in 'accessory mode' and then take out the fuse and start the car. Pretty ridiculous but....

So, I'm trying to ask of anyone... do you need to replace the fuse or can you drive it without that fuse? On the fuse diagram with the cables facing the bottom the fuse I had to remove was the top fuse of the bottom left grouping of fuses. Again, cables exiting the bottom... top fuse of the bottom left grouping.

Thanks
Fried

When you talk about the 'fuse trick' are you referring to the ESCL (steering lock)? If so, remove the fuse and forget about it. If you put it back in, it's just going to power the problematic ESCL again.

Yes exactly, steering lock. Perfect, that's what I wanted to hear! I just wanted to make sure I wasnt going to lose functionality to something major. Thanks!

As per JARblue, once the ESCL fuse is removed, you can forget it. For more info, see the link in my sig (I suggest not, since you have fixed the problem, unless you are the curious type). Drive and enjoy.

You could become very popular with the vert crowd if you can help them fix their tops and keep them in good running order. From what I've read, they are cantankerous (the tops and the vert crowd) and very expensive to have fixed by Nissan (their solution is to replace the whole mechanism).
