Default First post, First Z

I half-accidentally got myself a 370z last August. It is an early model, from 2009. Originally from the USA, imported to Europe in 2014. At first, I thought about driving it a year or so and then maybe selling it but now have fallen in love with it. You know, taking partner voluntarily to work at 6 am Saturday morning's (empty roads ) to the next city although there is perfectly excellent train service. The car is a head-turner here, in the Netherlands, as the NL government has almost banned the 370z with the high car-taxes, haven't seen one on the roads. The Z prices in dealerships are starting from around 105k € / 130K USD. Even a brand new BMW 7 series costs less in here.

Right now I'm thinking about some (minor) upgrades. I'm thinking about exhaust and intake. Am I doing anything wrong by getting Stillen GEN 3 and Berk Test pipes, while still maintaining original exhaust? Should I get the resonated or non-res pipes?

Also, I want to upgrade the brakes, as the current non-sport brakes are quite worn. I'm looking at Z1 brake kit, possibly with EBC Yellows. Don't give a damn about brake dust and squealing, just want them to work every time. Even after multiple 150-100mph brakes on the autobahn.

Speaking of the Autobahn, the car has terrible vibrations at higher speeds. The vibrations start at around 80/90mph and get bad at 140mph, and increases when I'm braking. Went to the dealership and they said that it's from the driveshaft. Could it be that or should I get the new brakes installed and wheels checked before ordering it? Or get it checked at another garage? The car has around 75k miles on the clock. The stealership is quoting 1500€ (1850usd) for it, and I reckon it is smarter to order it from the US, where the prices are around 700 bucks. Myus.com has US tax-free ZIP and can ship it to NL quite cheaply. If I would do that, where should I order it from? Also, the dealership said that the product code is 370001EA0A, but the site https://www.nissanpartswebstore.com/...70001EA0A.html says that it is suitable for 2014+ Z's only. Has the dealership made a mistake with the product code or is the website wrong?

Welcome and the Z is a plague, it takes over and consumes you in a good way of course. I've always loved that bumper over the newer models like I have, the "fangs" looks aggressive.

Congratulations on the new Ride. As far as mods go, take your time and read and don't be afraid to ask questions. In the mean time enjoy the Ride.

I see the Z has aftermarket wheels,,,have them check'd really good by a professional tire tech & if your rotors are severely warped-it could cause a vibration & worsen when applied firm.
Z1 has 1st class products & they ship world wide.
ck. emission codes before removing cat's & as far as exhaust,,,,,it would be Fast Intentions!

also-very unlikely driveshaft has failed, unless it's been hit or a universal joint going out...

The vibration when braking is due to warped rotors. If steering wheel vibrates at high speeds could be due to the wheels not balanced properly.

I'll definitely get the wheels and rotors checked out. I think that the rotors likely aren't the main cause, as with severely warped rotors I should feel some kind of vibrations through the brake pedal as well. Having experienced warped rotors a couple of times, the vibrations just doesn't feel like it. But I'll get em checked when balancing wheels just in case.

I'm sort of in a legal loophole, as the car is registered in another EU country and I'm driving it the Netherlands. Thanks to an exception in the EU law I'm allowed to drive the car indefinitely in NL without doing any technical checks or road taxes. As long as it isn't rolling coal or something else really bad, the emissions shouldn't be a problem.

Most likely it is either the front end (wheels or rotors) or something from drivetrain. As the vibration increases when braking hard (and decreases when accelerating), it likely isn't
coming from rear wheels.

Welcome to the 370Z forums. Very sharp 370Z you have there congratulations! Definitely feel free to search the forums. You will probably find better prices on parts for your 370Z in the USA.

I'm located in The Hague and Rotterdam.

Got the car up on the lift today and checked the driveshaft myself. The rear joints have a minimal (I was barely able to notice it) (rotational) play on them, otherwise, everything was sound. Got the wheel balances checked, the rear ones were fine but the front wheels were really off balance. The wheels needed like 13+28 and 15+20 grams to balance them. So most likely the vibrations were because of that. Also, the front left brake calliper is somewhat stuck as the wheel is not rotating as freely as it should and the pads have uneven wear on them.
