Forced Induction P006A
Hello everyone,
I'm a new member and I just bought a 2012 370z with a 6 MT, Stillen sc, and Stillen cat back exhaust. To my knowledge the car has an uprev tune. I can flip through five different maps using the cruise controls. I have no idea what the maps are. They do not seem to be stock, tuned, eco, valet, and security though. I bought the car from a dealership and do not know how to get in touch with the original owner. I do not have an uprev cable or a license to reflash. I keep throwing a P006A code. The code is for MAF. I have upgraded to the new Stillen wiring for the MAFs and the TBs, I have cleaned the MAFs and TBs, I have checked for vacuum leaks using a handheld propane torch to put propane around the engine bay with no change in idle. I've done some data logging. The MAFs are reading around a few hundredths of a lb/min difference between them. Is this my problem? Is there a way to test the MAFs or the harness with a volt meter? I have also seen a P0300 twice, which is a random misfire. I feel like the misfire is due to the ECM trying to compensate for the MAF issue. I have seen the P006A on it's own multiple times. The P0300 has not appeared unless the P006A is already present. When the code is thrown the car will idle around 1000-1200 rpms, the idle will fluctuate a little too. The car will go into limp mode (complete loss of power in gears 4-6), typically during highway driving. Once the car has been turned off and back on it will drive better. The SES light remains on, the idle remains high, but the car will rev more like it's supposed to and I get power back in 4-6 gears. Once I clear the DTCs the car returns to proper idle and driving characteristics seem normal. It is only a matter of time before the SES comes back on and the car starts driving like garbage again. I've read through a handful of threads where people have had similar issues but I'm having trouble finding resolutions. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to overcome it? |

That DTC could also be a MAP sensor problem. Not uncommon with an SC setup. Download the FSM (link in my sig) for location, wiring, etc.

Yeah, it's the MAP sensor. The ecu doesn't expect it to ever see positive pressure. Just have your tuner turn it off and you're good to go.

Thanks for the quick response guys. I have an appointment with the tuner set up for Tuesday morning.
Update 1: The SES came on when I was riding around town earlier. I took a look at the log. There was a difference of 4 tenths of a lb/min between the two MAFs just before the light came on. Could a difference that large between the two be the culprit? I hope to get the code disabled regardless but if there is an issue with the hardware I would like to address it as well. Update 2: The data log for the MAP show that it has a constant reading of 30.14 inhg which is about 15 psi. Even when the engine is off it reads 30.14 inhg. Has anybody seen anything like this? Is my MAP shot? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by Zephyr370; 02-12-2018 at 01:51 PM. |
