Default And it's about time..!!

That I got my hands on another Z

My first sports car, and the first car I bought myself after my first summer job when I was 16 was a 78 280z. Love that car, TONS of great memories. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it.

Now having just turned 40 it was (past) time for another. I'm a life long car guy and come by it honestly. A couple weeks ago I came across a package from my dad. It was the emblems I took off from that original Z when I painted it and never did put them back on. I had no idea he had hung on to them all these years. Very cool of him.

That was it, the seed was firmly planted unintentional as it may be. So last week I was off to the dealership. This was another first, of all the dozens of vehicles I've had I never picked one up brand new. Usually a few years old so someone else can take that depreciation hit, or other times much much older.

This dealer had 3 base models on the lot, and those were the only ones in the city. The sales manager told me that was it for western Canada right now, but it sounded like sales BS to me. Who knows. The white 370 was in the showroom so I took the black one for a test drive leaving the red one where it sat. To cut the resto of the story short, I took delivery of the black one the next day. Nobody else had so much as test drove it, with only 60km on the clock.

950km and six days later, I'm enjoying it more and more each and every time I take it out

I never out in that kind of mileage. Just can't help myself!

They had to order the spoiler for me so that will be coming later this week hopefully. Tint is booked in for tomorrow but have had a few things come up so think I'm going to have to reschedule.

The immediate to do list:
-Full exhaust headers back
-CAI, probably K&N
-Decide between some swift springs or go coilovers if I can score some for a decent price. UCA and rear links at the same time to keep it from going negative.
-wheel spacers. I'm typically not a fan of them but have no intention of changing my wheels just yet so 15mm at all fours are on the list.
-alpine or pioneer head unit and some Polk 6.5s. Nothing crazy, but anything is better than the base unit.
-order a second set of outside door handles and paint them black.
-remote oil cooler.
-tint, but I already said that.

That's the short term plan. I won't speculate what comes after that. I could tell myself that's enough and will leave well enough alone, but I'd probably be lying.

At this point I've only had a chance for a couple quick n dirty iPhone shots, but I'll take care of that soon enough. You all know what a 2016 Base looks like anyhow lol

I am incredibly impressed how they were able to bring forward the sensation of driving the 280z into this new one. No small feet I'm certain. Kudos are definitely due.

And those original emblems that restarted this madness

Enjoyed what I've seen of the site so far guys. See you around

Don't want to write all that again so here's the pictures. Call it the condensed version. A graphic novel if you will.

The first car I bout myself after my first summer job when I was 16 was a 78 280z. Loved that thing, lots of great memories. Couple weeks back found a package from dad that had the emblems from it that I took off when I painted it and never did put them back on. Had no idea he hung on to them all these years. Guess that must have planted the seed.

Fast forward to last week and my first brand new vehicle a 2016 370z base. Just a couple quick n dirty iPhone pics for now. I'll make time for some better ones soon

Let the madness begin!

Aha so even though the post was originally approved, after I edited one picture in probably went back into the moderation cue. Gotcha

Thanks

Bingo. Posts without photos are permitted without mod approval required. Just in here a few times to get your post count above 10. Then try editing your original post to add the photo. I'm not 100% it will work, but you might as well give it a try. There is only one really active moderator on here, and he's busy enough with real life that sometimes these requests can take a few days to get approved.
