Thumbs up What's up from Mesa, AZ!

Hey everyone! Just picked up a 13' 370Z Nismo (#571) in Pearl White, and have been scouring the forum for quite some time now. I love how solid this community is here, in terms of sharing information and getting down to the bottom issues for other members. Power in numbers is a huge help when it comes to diagnosing and problem solving!

I come from a long line of Z owners in my family, and my time has finally come. My grandpa had several 240Z's, and my uncles and dad went through two generations of Z's (270 & 300). My dad sill owns two 370z roadsters (his/black & hers/pearl white) which was the final straw for me. I had to get one! I've been in the market for over a year and the time has finally come. I traded in my 06' Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Quad Cab 4x4 with 97,000 miles on it. While I've been driving trucks and jeeps since I was 16, my dad taught me how to drive in his 91 Mustang GT 5.0 5MT. He taught me the old-school way. First day out he took me into the city to teach me how to drive stick, he put me at a stop light just before the crest of its biggest hill during rush hour traffic. Die by fire, right? Coincidentally, I also learned what a burnt clutch smelled like, and how to use the handbreak to help me get going if I was stopped on a hill with someone behind me while I was learning how to use the clutch.

I've always loved sports cars, and enjoy driving them -- but my life has always required me to own a truck. Times change. I'm single, no kids, self employed, and live alone, and feel like a two seater sport car is perfect for me at this point in my life.

I only have one, maybe two mods planned for the Z, and that is the entertainment system. Trying to decide if I want to install a Pioneer 8100 NEX w/ backup cam, nav, weather, and traffic updates, with plans to upgrade the speakers, wiring and amp in "phase 2", or if I want to wait for the Brainiac touchscreen. That system is ridiculously cool! The second one I am considering is the clear bra. It sure seems expensive for minimal coverage, but I've also noticed how soft the Z's paint is. I'd rather put the $600-700 into phase 2 of the audio system instead of some clear protective film.

Anyways, looking forward to posting on the forums, and glad to have this site and its members as a resource that I can continue to spend countless hours learning about our sweet rides! If anyone has any tips or mandatory mods, I'm all ears!

I'm still trying to come up with a name for her... I guess time will tell. We need to get to know each other
