My New 370
Hello Forum,
Here are some pics of my Z I bought a couple of weeks ago. It's an 2012 I bought new...it was the last 12 on the lot. Best car deal I have ever negotiated, I got it for about 4,000 under invoice. It had been on the lot for a few months so there were a few minor scratches and other test drive abuse (sratched inner door panels from shoes and a slightly rashed chin spoiler). While washing it I noticed what looks like lifting damage to the side skirts...but the car has never been lifted. Dealer says perhaps damaged by the transporter? Not sure what will happen yet with that. I'll post some pics of the damage later. Love the car! image by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr image by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr Thanks for looking Ryan |

CG's on the ride. If you want to replace the chin spoiler, you can find them at Z1 performance for pretty cheap. FB Nissan or Fontana Nissan may carry it also. Z1 eould probably be cheaper on shipping.

Welcome, from one red Z owner to another!
Don't let those little flaws with the car fade into history. The sooner you get the dealer to attend to them, the better luck you'll have in getting them corrected. Hopefully, you've gotten a "We Owe You" form from the dealer, where he promises in writing to correct those minor cosmetic matters. Check out the available red interior lighting for your map lights. I love mine. You might also look into ClearBra, before you get too many chips on the front bumper area. Enjoy your car. She's a beauty. |

Sound advice Old Guy.
There is no we owe in this case. Frankly I was fine with the spoiler, and the door panel scratches. It will happed eventually. The rocker panel/ side skirts are a different story. This was not noticed till I washed the car a few days after delivery. I'm not happy about the damge. A claim has been put in for "transport damage" as this is the only plausible cause for the identical damage on each side. Drivers side is slightly worse. Best case is I am given new sill covers. A second option would be body shop repair and blend for the panel. Either way the panels must be painted. My wife runs a body shop so I'm at ease at least with the paint match. Still dissapointing really....it's a shame you can't buy a new car without having to take a maginfing glass to it. Full sticker on this one was 45K, you'd think better care would be taken...but then I'm also thinking people give a ****. Most don't. Ryan |
