First time Z owner
Hello, my names Matt I recently bought a Z (18, G41, M) with only 24k miles on her 2 months ago.
A little history about me, I've always been a car fan or had a love for cars growing up helping my dad work on his cars (a assortment of muscle cars) but always have been drawn to the JDM cars. Grew up in the 90's, so plenty of greats Japanese cars from that time. Hate to say it but fast and furious as well as need for speed games made my interest and love for cars grow. My style and taste have matured from the neon's and hug wings, lol. M first car was a 2000 ford ZX2 which was a hand me down. First car i bought myself was a brand new 06 Honda FG2 (which i still have), was also my first manual car. Will never go back to a auto again. Had a few other Honda's as project cars (a del sol and a integra) but got rid of them for various reasons. I have always loved Honda's so when the Type R finally was made available in the US, i was like that is going to be my next car, a car i always have wanted and was a dream car. Only thing was i wished it was a coupe, never cared for sedans. Long story short went to go look at one, a sonic blue one, sat in it and it just felt long to me might sound weird but didn't feel like me. Plus they were wanting 40k for it, a little more than i was comfortable paying. So looked at other JDM cars and the Z fit the bill and am so glad i went with it. This is also my first RWD and V6 i have owned. Things done to the Z so far: AAM resonated tail pipes (was to quite stock) M-spec shift knob Broadway mirror (know its pointless but like the look) Silver front tow hook (not in pictures) GTR map light lens 50% tint EZ front lip (was scrapping on my driveway, so got this so it doesn't damage the stock lip spoiler) Plans for the Z? Alot, got a long list lol, my SI has full bolt on's so that's probably the same route I'm going to take maybe FI down the road but also more body mods for the Z. |
