First new car!! 2017 370z / base / black metallic
Happy to say I just recently purchased a new Z. A fresh 2017 base model 370z in metallic black. Needless to say I'm stoked! I just purchased an Armytrix exhaust setup and I'm just awaiting the matte black tips to come in to install it. I also have many more mods coming, although It might be a little bit cause this Armytrix system put a dent in my wallet for sure. I have a lot to share with this forum regarding this car, its purchase, the service I received from my dealership (stealership), and the fact that I had my transmission replaced within the first 30 days of buying this car, among many other issues. Regardless of the BS I've been going through, I planned the purchase of this Z for more than 3 years. So I will stick it out and make this experience everything I want it to be. Happy to be part of this Forum!

Hello & welcome,
Sorry to hear about your poor dealer expirence, although you're not alone on that one, seems to go across most brands. Having to replace your trans after 10 days is a little much. Mod slowly & don't void your warranty, you might need it! Best of luck! |

Welcome - my mind goes back to the black 350Z I bought in 2006. Only brand new car I've ever bought - it's a lovely feeling. Sorry to hear you've had some crap to deal with, but dying to hear the details!

Hey Guys, thanks for all the replies!!! Yes, something was going on when I first drove car, I noticed that the 1st and 2nd gear would catch and get stuck sometimes!
However, the issue was not a major one,as I could drive the car smoothly most of the time, and the it would stick only once in a little bit. At first I thought it was me maybe I wasn't driving the car correctly, maybe it was that I haven't driven a manual car in a bit. (although I've had 3 other manual transmissions car before this). Either way, I mentioned it to the car sales man, and he explained to me that he had driven plenty of 370s and they all felt like this. I choose to purchase the car anyway, thinking it was just me and either way Its under warranty. Also I had a great deal with TRUECAR that offered the car at 27000k like 30k out the door on a base 17'...im sure I could of gotten a better deal but I took it. Initially I did not like the car as much, having come from a 2010 135i, there was alot I was missing, specially the acceleration of those turbos past 60mph on the highway, but I slowly I started to love the thing, even though I already had creaks and squeaks in my 3-6 month old car, so much so I had to take it to the dealership to have them tighten my window motor that had a screw loose making noise when listening to music or just driving. The weird sticking feeling on the gears never went away, and more and more it was starting to really REALLY ANNOY me, I mean ****, this is a brand new car, I literally cant express to you how frustrated I was thinking about this and having it happen to me from time to time. I eventually took it to the dealership, they found no problem. I was very upset, but demanded that they at least change the transmission fluid, and so they did. Eventually I ended up taking it back again, same result. Then I took it in again, and made them take a ride with me and had them drive it with me. Finally those lazy ***** noticed it and agreed to replace the whole transmission. and so they did. When I picked it up, there marks on my shift knob (ripped leather), scuffs that were not removable on my car on the door and floor, and my trim b the great selector was destroyed and hastily just put back. BUT, the 1st and 2nd were not longer sticking at any moment, although I noticed that 6th gear was harder to get into on this transmission (although not a real issue, more of a characteristic of this transmission). To make a long story short, I thought about attempting a florida state lemon law on the car, decided not to after I spoke with nissan corporation, because they chose to extend my engine/transmission/drivetrain warranty to 100k FOR FREE. I miss not having to worry about dumbasses at the dealership joy riding your car and eating a omellet made by a chef at BMW dealership. But all things considered, I'm starting to warm up to this car, and I finally think its time to start modding and stop worrying about BS. I was going to sell my newly purchased armytrix exhaust but I decided to keep it, I also just ordered a set of test pipes which should be here on friday, and I am thinking about a header, intake manifold, ported lower intake manifold next along with tuning, or just waiting and saving for a turbo kit. Either way hope this isnt too long winded. Last edited by bitflop; 09-08-2017 at 01:00 AM. |
