Default 2016 370z Issues

Me again....so on my way to Alabama from Virginia...had to stop in Atlanta...clutch on brand new 370Z sticks when you press in it and will not come out. Will take to Nissan Dealer tomorrow morning...can't drive it to Alabama.

What would cause a brand new clutch to act this way?

A dead or dying csc. Welcome to the club, there's a lot of people with very low mileage csc failures.

What's wrong with Nissan selling cars that can cause a possible accident or even death....this happened to me today on I-85 in traffic and the car would not shift....this is crazy....I had to pull over and it was very dangerous. It has less than 5,000 miles

Yep. It's a very well documented problem with the 6mt.

They'll probably just flush the system with gtr fluid and get you on your way. This is just a bandaid and the slave will fail again down the line. Just expect to put in an aftermarket slave sometime down the line.

My old 350 did the same thing. More during higher rpm launches or when it got too hot. Idk why they didn't address this issue yet. I have the Z1 clutch with csc delete in my TT 370 and there's no signs of sticking there lol. In my opinion it's worth it to invest in an aftermarket clutch if you plan on driving it often.

There are several guys here with 2016 Nismos with less than 2,000 (2K) miles with CSC failures. Heck! There is a guy that was doing a test drive with 6 miles on the Odometer and the freaking CSC failed!

Thank you all for your comments....vehicle is being towed this morning to Nissan dealer in atlanta ga...I plan to demand a rental car for my destination of Alabama. ..this will allow plenty of time for dealer to repair car and I pick up on my return home back to Virginia. ....if this happens again I will demand a swap to an automatic :-(

Demand all you want, they're not swapping cars. They've done nothing about it up until this point, that's not going to change now.

Switching to a 7AT is the best move.

Not really. Switching out the slave to an aftermarket unit solves all your problems.

OP, that's your best case scenario. See if you can come out of pocket for a ZSpeed HD CSC and have them install it instead of another OEM one. Then your problems are solved forever.

All of this aftermarket extra stuff when you can get a little man to live in your transmission and shift for you standard. 7AT is the way to go.

For some people. Some people actually enjoy the experience of driving a manual. Since the only knock on the Z 6mt is the weak hydraulics, once those are replaced you can enjoy the car with no worries. I would think the OP would prefer her thread not get turned into another transmission debate. There's plenty of those here already.

Chuck & Jsur are 100% on point.

Honestly, the best peace of mind decision you can make is upgrade your CSC to the heavy duty unit many vendors sell here. The CSCNissan puts in here is crap. Once it goes, might as well have it put inn while the transmission is out. Save $$$ on the labor. Its a few hundred bucks, so adding that and some nice clutch fluid will keep it from occurring again.
