Cheap place to get springs installed in NoVA?

I called Moore Automotive and they wanted $500+ for the install and alignment not including springs. That seems like a lot to install springs. I dunno maybe it isn't? Anyone know a cheaper alternative. I don't have the tools to do it myself.

Ptuning (in Manassas VA) and AAM Competition (Annapolis Jct [north of laurel]) to name a couple off the top of my head. Labor in this area isn't cheap, but the work they perform is excellent.

Just as a heads-up, if you're getting springs (depending on the brand) you may need camber arms and toe bolts (like I do).

My recommendation would be Moore.

I have tools and we could figure it out on a nice day, but my time isn't free and you'd still need an alignment.

Labor is so expensive in this area. I had timing chain overhaul done at Brown's in Sterling. They charge more for labor than my Audi dealer back in MD.

Just think $500 is a little steep. I'd like to get it around $500 for the whole package- springs, alignment, and labor. I don't think thats unreasonable but we shall see.

I might take you up on that...

Call up hills garage in Baltimore, if you wanna make the drive up. He's usually pretty fair on pricing.

Im getting mine done at coales auto up here in severn md. Theyre installing my coilovers, swaybars and rear camber arms for 550, with alignment.

That sounds reasonable actually. Thanks brah that's the kinda info I was looking for. I don't mind the drive. I'm way more familiar with MD than Virginia as I just moved from Owings Mills.

The owners name is mike, he responds pretty quick on requests for quotes, just email him. They arent Z specific, but i've heard nothing but good things about them.

I have had a lot of work done at Brown's. I have had three Nissan's and I think they are pretty fair in their prices. Keep in mind that the dealerships have people that are trained on your specific car, whereas general garages know a lot about cars, just not necessarily your car. I know dealerships can get a bad rap, but I think if you go in and talk to the service guys for a little bit and ask for a discount, you might just get it done for what you are looking to spend.

You had to have an overhaul on your timing belt already? I have over 77k on mine and haven't had any issues yet. How many miles on your Z? What caused the need for a new timing belt? Should I be worried with my high mileage? Was the repair covered under warranty? I hope so!

AAM is usually expensive. Can always call to find out, but that's been my experience.

Yep timing chain overhaul. I thought it was weird too. A few months ago we had a couple really, really cold nights. Historically cold apparently. Anyway on one of those mornings I woke up and my car was in limp mode after a few hundred yards of driving. It was throwing P0300 which was the only code. The car was actually driving fine but kept throwing the code. I did what I could (new o2s, mafs, bg44k, cleaned intake) but it kept coming back. Eventually it got worse and the car would become hard to start. So I took it in and they said it jumped time. My car has 74k on it.

I bought my car from Carmax with MaxCare extended warranty. I just had to provide maintenance records since I do my own and they covered it no problem. Total invoice from Brown's was $5k. I agree they do great work too. and Mike is awesome. I paid $1700 for the warranty by the way.

I don't think it's a problem. I couldn't find a single instance of a 370z jumping time online I just think I got lucky, possibly having something to do with the extreme cold.

Thanks for the details. All of the service guys there that I have worked with are good guys. Glad your car is fixed and back on the road. Mine is there today getting an alignment, so I should be back in it this afternoon.
