From beginning to.... never ending build.
So I am fairly new to the Z ownership but have always loved this car. My dad even had the 350 and roadster when they first came out so that was nice to drive while in high school.
I must say I cannot believe I get to own such a beautiful car... a little back story... I grew up around sports cars and have always loved them and my dad still has a 66 AC Cobra (but that's a completely different beast). In college I had a 05 RSX Type S that I fully built with gt30 and sidewinder manifold making 500hp. Then I blew 2nd on the tranny, someone broke into it, and I had to pay for school. So I parted out and traded it the day it got broken into. I got a car no one would mess with or care about a 2012 GTI. After having it for a year and feeling kind of bored with it anyway; I traded it for my GF to get a Juke since she loves them and needed a safer car. So I went from a 500hp beast to a 2007 FOCUS!!!! This was a low point lol. Well a few months later my friend (who works at the dealer where we got the Juke) called and said "we have a Z that needs to go". My GF said "let's go see it" boy did she regret those words! Well we figured there's no way I could afford both cars and or get approved. We go and this car is in mint condition, even smells new. It's a 2011 Touring Sport loaded with 26k miles. They originally wanted close to $30k but needing to move it and knowing me they offered it for $25k. I figured ok run everything doubt I can afford it and somehow he came back lower than my top figure. After going home for the night to think it over we realized it was too good of a deal to pass up on. So first thing the next morning we were back and luckily I did because someone else was coming in to see it that day! So now a few months down the road I have been slowly building her to be what I want but unlike the RSX I am taking my time on this one and mainly doing cosmetics for now I uploaded some photos since I cannot figure out how to just embed them in here but I will figure that out eventually. You can kind of follow the picture trail from the day I got her to now... And one of the Cobra. Mods so far: Evo-R fog light (Realized this was added on previously) Oil Cooler (Also discovered this was done previously) Black out headlights with halo and purple demon eyes. H&R Lowering Springs Purple Wheels (Till I buy some new ones soon) 20mm Front and 25mm Rear Spacers Purple Tow Hook Seibon CF lip Painted Rear Spats Tinted Tails Blacked out Nissan emblems and debagged. 15% tint all around Top speed exhaust and y pipe (for now, traded someone my stock) Ordered Aero Jacket side blades. Should be here next week Ordered APR Splitter Rods. Should be here today. That's about all I can think of. Let me know what you all think! Last edited by Kaden44; 02-06-2015 at 12:18 PM. |

Awesome story! Thanks for sharing. ...and...a 66 Cobra? My dad would have had to had a 24 hour armed guard to keep me out of that!

welcome to the Z ownership mate hope you enjoy it!
nice mods so far, cars looking great! I've had mine for almost 3 years now and don't regret it one bit, they are a lot more expensive here in Aus haha, I had to pay $62.5k for mine brand new. I've been thinking about getting that lip for mine, but haven't yet, it scrapes on a lot as it is, I'm running the same H&R springs. How do you find it compared to not having it on? probably feels slow at the moment compared to your old beast, but I've recently put a stillen supercharger on mine, it's beautiful to drive still, you can drive it like a stock car, then get into it and have good fun when you want to. didn't think it would be as smooth as a stock car after the charger went on, but it's still awesome to drive even in traffic! ps - the Cobra is a beast!! |

The lip I was worried about but to be honest I don't scrape very much at all. I do however make sure to drive much more careful and very slow over bumps just in case. But I also will be installing the splitter rods today which will help be extra support! |
