Default Amerihood installed

Well folks, replaced the factory hood with a vented carbon Amerihood. I color matched the trim color with the mesh screens to pull it together. Yes it is functional. The VQ motor is known for heat and you can feel it coming through these vents after a drive. There is absolutely no weight saving factor, it is strictly a cool factor and heat displacement add on.

Awesome. How much lower have you noticed the temps dropping?

Good question, I see running temps down by around 5-10 degrees, but whats really noticable is the faster drop after you park and come back and start again.

Very nice, pulls together well. I like your approach and it keeps it still very clean IMO.

Good job man!

Did it weigh about the same as the stock hood then? (And not more?)

My guess would be more. Wet CF is on the heavy side. And I believe the stock hood is aluminum and on the lighter side.

Looks damn good though and functional is always good
Hotrodz likes this.
