April 2017: BP Single Turbo on it's way. Update Posted

This last month I picked up a 2013 370z sport with 25k miles, a nice upgrade from my g35 and my first manual transmission! After a few days learning to drive stick I ordered my first mod (the Stillen G3 CAI) and since I've been addicted to sprucing up the car. I'd love to hear your opinions / suggestions! Here's what I have done so far

Updated 02/05/16: 315.5HP - 273.6TQ

Engine/exhaust:
~ Stillen G3 longtube CAI
~ Motordyne m370 manifold
~ Fast Intentions RHFC
~ ARK grip exhaust
~ EcuTek tune
Wheels/suspension:
~ Swift Spec-R springs
~ Eibach Sways
~ 20in silver Volk GT30
Aesthetics/Extras:
~ 3M Satin Pearl White vinyl wrap
~ 3M Gloss Black vinyl roof, spoiler, diffuser
~ 20% Window tint
~ Kenwood Head unit
~ Zenclosure box with kicker sub

I'd like to give a shout out to Absolute Perfection Applied Graphics - in Sykesville, MD for an absolutely fantastic wrap job & Hills Garage - in Elkridge, MD. They are a family run shop with some of the most knowledgeable Nissan mechanics I've ever met. These guys are seriously the best and I highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area.

Also thank you to the entire the370z.com community for all the awesome help/resources available to us newbies! Looking forward to becoming a part of it.

Wheel and tire setup seems a bit skinny, but I love the look of the car otherwise! The wrap looks amazing as well.

I know I've researched the M370 until my eyes bled, so I'd like to hear your thoughts. We're going to running the same setup pretty much(I, too, am waiting for shipment from FI,) and I'd be interested in getting your thoughts on the mod once you have everything tuned.

Good job though. Keep it up!

Unfortunately the previous owner of the wheels had them on his slammed Lexus and it required a lot of tire stretch to fit. I will be purchasing some new properly fitting tires soon. Thank you and I appreciate the feedback!

I also researched the m370 for hours&hours. The only reason I jumped the gun was I found a used manifold for a little over $400 which was much easier to justify then paying full price. I will say I have noticed an increase in torque. The car has an easier time losing traction in the 3-5k rpm range than pre-install (small but substantial enough that I strongly believe it is actually present and that I'm not just living off the placebo). I also defiantly noticed an increase in throatiness of the engine sound which I find very pleasing!

Should have her on the dyno sometime in the next few weeks and I will be sure to post the results / let you know how the numbers look

Awesome mods and great color choice. I cant tell if you went with V1 or V2 on the ARK Grip from your pics, either way car looks great. How does your exhaust setup sound so far? I had the ARK Grip V2 only with no other mods and it sounded great and got much louder over time. Would love to hear a sound clip after you get the HFCs burned in!

Thanks! I'll include a rear pic showing the exhaust. Bought it recently directly from ARK's website so I'm assuming it's a V2. I've heard the V1 had fitment issues and I have it + swift springs with no scraping or issues whatsoever.

I also love the sound and mine seems to be getting slowly loader as it breaks in. Really looking forward to see how it sounds with the FI resonated HFC. I'm hoping it will be significantly louder WOT but that the resonators will keep the drone down (reason I bought the ARK was for good sound quality with minimal drone). I'll try to get a nice quality audio file posted once installed

Default FI RHFC, Ecutek, & Dyno numbers

Finally got the car finished & on a dyno. DynoDynamics dyno numbers are: 281.7HP - 249TQ. Scaled to a DynoJet (shown in the second photo) this comes out to be: 315.5HP - 273.6TQ

According to my tuner the dyno dynamics dyno reads differently than the typical dyno's people use. The next picture is Dynojet scaled horsepower along with my pre&post A/F ratio:

The throttle response and traction control maps we worked out make the car feel amazing. As you may see the A/F ratio on the stock fuel map with my mods was terrible so I'm extremely glad I got that corrected. Although the numbers weren't as high as I expected, I most defiantly felt the increase in torque & power

Future plans: I plan to start participating in local AutoX events along with getting the car to the drag strip. I will take this time to decide what the future holds. Two 370's @ the shop I frequent have Boosted performance mid mount single turbos going in on stock internals. Assuming all goes well for them & I don't fall in love with autoX I am highly considering going with the B.P. single turbo as well

Default Single turbo coming soon

After lots of thought I've finally decided the Z will be getting boosted
She will continue to be my daily driver so I've got my fingers crossed everything goes smoothly.

If any of you OG's or even just anyone who has experience boosting the Z comes across this thread please share your thoughts or experiences, again any advice is appreciated. Expecting a bit of an adventure here but the more I know going in the better. So, onto my parts list.

BP Single Turbo kit - COMP 800HP twin-scroll, TBB, etc.
Innovate SGC-1 Boost Controller Gauge
GaleForce Premium Single Gauge A-Pillar
CSF triple pass Radiator
Z1 34 row Oil Cooler
South Bend Stage 2 Daily Clutch w/Quiet Disk
RJM Adjustable Pedal
South Bend 19lb LWF
ZSpeed CMAK CSC Delete *** Making an attempt to install the kit around this, with the stage 2 clutch in (hoping it will hold up as I am not rough on the clutch). I have a SB Stage 4 clutch & HD CSC in the garage ready to go in if we can't fabricate are way around the CMAK. ***
Ecutek Software
PTP Lava Turbo bag
Daily Tires: Michelin PS4S
Powder Coat going on IC piping
Either a ceramic coat or heat wrap for the hot side

As far as the tune I am on Ecutek already & will just need to hop on the dyno for a retune. Here is what I'm thinking as far as my maps are concerned;
At least until I work up some funds for an engine build I'm thinking of starting with something like a 6psi waste gate spring in. While I want to believe that I will control myself, I'm not so sure I can. If I am correct having the 6psi spring paired with the EBC should give me up to 12pounds of boost which should be PLENTY for now.
Again she's the daily driver so looking for conservative tune as far as timing, etc. Depending on what type of numbers we are seeing on the dyno may decide to go a little less conservative.
TUNE 1: SMOKEY TIRE MODE
Med or High boost – NO Traction Control (TC)
TUNE 2: TRAVEL / DAILY
Low boost (~6psi) – Ecutek TC
[TUNE W/NO BOOST CONTROLER??? This will allow me to have a safe map to use if the BC shoots the ****? Talk to Frank.]
TUNE 3: DAILY
Med boost (~8psi) – Ecutek TC
TUNE 4: RACE
High boost (~10-12psi) – Ecutek TC

Will continue with updates! Goodies are showing up daily
