Welp since I'm not going to the MAZOC meet - need some help with the coolant tank

So I disconnected the top two hoses with no problem and removed the bolts holding the tank in place. Now there's the main coolant feed that runs into the engine.

Now there's the main coolant feed that runs into the engine. This guy:

What's the safest/easiest way to disconnect it with the least mess possible and how do I reconnect it afterward?

Not really sure what you got going on there but if you're pulling the smaller line maybe a pair of needle nose vise grips to "pinch" the line so nothing comes flowing out?

This right here:

There are three problems:
1) That hose is too thick to just "pinch off". I could probably get another hose clamp and try to do it that way but I'm not sure if that would work.

2) The second I unhook that black clamped hose from the plastic resevoir, coolant is going to go everywhere.

3) I'm not sure if I can reattach that clamp after I remove it.

Hi, use a little bucket to catch the fluid. You can put a bolt in the end of the hose to seal it. And you can reuse that clamp just pinch it together with some pliers.

I can't really tell from the pic what diameter the hose is but otherwise you should be good.

Are you changing out all of your hoses to the silicone?

All of the hoses that Z1 makes are already silicone. I'm pulling the coolant tank to plastidip it black (leaving a fill line stripe)

Here's the $10 part if you decide to cut it off. HOSE-RESERVE TANK - 370Z (Z34) 2009+ :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com
