Default New job, short commute

Just got a new job that is 1.1 miles from my place. I've been thinking about picking up either a vespa or a yamaha fz-09/07 to do the short commutes on the non-rainy days. What do y'all suggest?

I also often go to a gym which is about 3 miles away so that would also be beneficial.

Why not get a pedal bike?

If it was me I'd probably look into the Kawasaki Ninja 250's that are out there. Fun little bastards that you can throw around and you'd probably fill up once a month with that short of a commute.

Houston isn't too bike friendly near downtown especially during morning rush. I'll have to cross a couple of major streets. The gym is also in medical center area so I'll also have to ride on the street which I wouldn't be comfortable due to the traffic.

Not planning on showing up to work all drenched and sweaty from jogging.

FZ1 bro. I have owned two of them and they are corner beasts with some low end grunt!

Not looking to do much joy riding on it...strictly to work and gym. Which is why I was also looking into a Vespa. Might even consider a FZ-07.

The first black one is nice. Being that close to work especially down town H-town is golden! Total win.

ninja or cbr 250. I am more than happy with mine on the highway and it gets like 102-105mpg suck it prius.

Also it is comfortable much more upright than a full size sport bike and at 270-some pounds it flicks over like mind control(will still do a wheelie)

Edit also the insurance is right around 15-18 a month<--- this is what did it for me, with the insurance being cc based and the fz classifying as a sport bike you will be paying 3-4 times this amount.

I have my R6 to commute to work (about 2 miles) and to school (about 10). If you can afford it I would highly recommend it. I dont waste putting petty miles on my car anymore and take my bike whenever able. Except for bad weather or carrying items)
