Looking for a second car
I want a second car. Something for under 5k.
Theres a nissan sentra 2.0 S model with about 136k miles on it. I dont have any experience with Nissan's. From what I read, Nissan's, their CVT transmission doesn't seem that great for longevity. From what I read, nissan extended the warranty on their cvt tranny. Which to me is not a good thing. Any thoughts. Especially from mechanics that worked on these cars. I prefer a toyota, but generally they are out of my price range. Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk

Originally bought a Honda Fit to replace my Z as my daily. But I hate it. I know others who like them tho.
I have a 2004 Lexus ES330 with 95K miles. Drives like a dream. But it's seen 14 Texas summers, so things are deteriorating. I've been keeping the Fit around to drive if the Lexus requires work - so I don't have to rush the work, which I mostly DIY. Last work was a new radiator, and I think new wheel hubs and possibly some suspension bits are up next. I am looking to dump the Fit, sell the Lexus to pay for a lift, and get a newer vehicle where routine maintenance is the typical work needed rather than major repairs. Also I'm sick of ATs; I need a manual.

240sx, reliable, easy to fix, still fun. Or Is300, same attributes but much nicer, not sure if any decent ones are available for $5k tho.

If you are looking for a point-A-to-point-b car, and under $5k per your post, go with some of the older Honda's/Acura's. IMO, the older Honda's are more reliable and with little maintenance required than the newer models.
