The RB26 was the Skyline GT-R engine from 1989-1994. Nissan is now making the engine block again for enthusiasts, but in the Japanese market only:

and Carlos Ghosn has requested separate trial from Nissan if you're still watching that dumpster fire.

This should surprise no one.

Their compact truck has been the same since 2005.
Their two image building sports cars haven't changed in a decade.
All their high volume vehicles have crap CVTs that people are getting sick of replacing.

and on and on and on.

I won’t even pick a CVT car from the rental fleet when I’m vacation. Last time I was stuck with a Hyundai Sonata as the only choice of non-CVT cars

The first time I drove a CVT was a rental 2017 Altima and it was so weird. I drove the 2018 Murano too and it was the same feeling. Nissan really doesn't make good cars anymore, at least none that I would buy. Even the Z which I own, the only reason why I got it was because it's felt familiar like a old friend because I use to have a 350Z. I was gonna get a 2016 Camaro SS. And I drove the GTR, it's good but I personally would choose other cars over it that are more fun at the price point. That semi auto gearbox just isn't fun. I know it's fast but I just don't get any enjoyment out of it.

ZL-1 is on my watch list. Stock it's already fast, already has all of the cooling setup, already has great transmission choices. Handles and something tells me it likely has a lot less road noise than the Z.

This is what happens when you use CVT and have a partnership with a shitty Euro brand (Renault). Go back to geared transmissions, face lift for all models, and focus on quality the Japanese way. How hard is that? Fools. Some people dig their own graves.

I recall when Nissan was bleeding yen so badly and looking for a ship to rescue them that they found it, but it said T-I-T-A-N ...

Now that it's looking like Fiat-Chrysler will have some kind of merger with Renault, it reminds me of something else I once heard - "no matter how much heat and pressure you apply to a pile of sh%t, you're not going to get a diamond; but instead just a steaming pile of sh*t!"
