What is the fastest way to send a Payment to Private Seller on Forum
Hey guys, what is the fastest way to send money to a "Private seller" for a used part on the Forum. I was the first to contact a seller through a private message, and he committed to selling me a part. Before I could log on to PayPal to send the money, someone wrote on the add "I just sent PM" and beat me to it. The seller told me that he received a PM from someone else and the part was sold that fast. How was this possible?

You got bushwhacked. Not really ethical on the sellers part, but what can you do. I have had that happen hear once. Just don't deal with the guy again.

Honestly seller kind of sounds like a douche if he sold something out from under you if you already had an agreement. I realize people back out of things, but I always at least give them a last shot and send them another message with a deadline to send payment.
Paypal is still the best way, and honestly you are still best to pay the 3% fee, dont send it as a gift. That way you have some sort of protection if something goes wrong. |

Google wallet works well, too. I just bought a kayak with a transfer. Took maybe 10 minutes to get confirmation. Transfer will complete either today or Monday. (Weekend) No fees for using the service. You both have to have confirmed Google wallet accounts.
I'm with Ohio. Any decent seller will allow you a chance to bow out. It sounds like you may have just made a lucky escape. Dude was too trigger happy, by far. Kirk B. |

I don't think the real question was about how to send money. it was just a way to talk about an unethical seller.

pretty much you can't do anything about sellers behavior. I have sent payments first just to get rejected and refunded. Due to multiple reasons. It's not a guarantee even if you got in first. Specially If your dealing with a seller who doesn't care about courtesy in dealing with a potential buyer. Nature of dealing via internet. All you can do is warn other members on dealing with this guy if you think he has not treated you right. |
