Coping with Cancer of Loved One?
So I started this thread on my350z when I found out my father was diagnosed with cancer. I just Needed another place to sort of vent and just get support. I'm very proud of him, he is constantly in pain but doesn't want to show it and he was in the Vietnam war.
My father has had multiple sclerosis since he was my age, about 27 or so. He always walked with a cane until about 3 years ago he became wheel chair bound. He has a multitude of health issues including last stages of COPD and now developed a cataract. He just recently was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer has started chemo and radiation. I'm just a wreck because it is all I think about. I help him but work 40 hours a week or more. I want to help him enjoy his life more, but unsure how, I took him to the zoo the other week and he loved it. I will take him to a baseball game this season too. It's hard because he used a catheter and can't walk. What else can I do with him to build memories and give him happiness? Last edited by oldschool350z; 05-18-2015 at 08:03 AM. |

Man... God bless your dad for being a veteran.
I wish I could give you good advice, but try to spend as much time as you can with him. My father is getting older now, and the thought that it will be over one of these days kills me on the inside. Tell us if we can help

You sound like a good son, its good to find people that really care about their loved ones, spend as much time with him and show him you really care about him and what he means to you

Thank you guys. We are now having issues with a recent vehicle purchase. They screwed him over and there was a recall which only has a temporary solution. He has owned the vehicle 30 days and will lose money.
They seem very shady because they will go to the hospital and have him sign loan papers. I am against the whole thing but they will not take the car back without giving him thousands less than what he paid literally less than 30 days ago. It's too old for the lemon law to apply and it would take months for the attorney general or DAV to help. |
