Hey guys just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Matt and just bought my Z, a 2010 40th Anniversary Edition. She is beautiful (ill have pictures up shortly) and a blast to drive. My last ride was an 07 TL Type-S and while it was fun, its nothing compared to this bad boy!

Looking forward to hitting some meets to get some ideas.

Edit: Pictures!

Heres the only pic ive taken yet of her:

And heres one of my old TLS:

Welcome dude! Congrats on the Z. I really like those TL's, super nice cars and the OEM sound system is amazing. I know this because my dad has a 04 with the a-spec chrome rims. I recommend your first mode to disabling your steering wheel lock.

Yeah I had a lot of fun with my TL and it was pretty heavily modified. The sound system was 10000x better than the one in this car, my first mods are definitely gonna center around ICE.

Whats with the steering wheel lock? I see the DIY threads about cutting a wire but whats the issue?

The issue with the fuse is that if it goes out you wont be able to start your car until its replaced

It's not necessarily the fuse, if it is then that's no problem to fix, pick one up for like $15. The big problem is the actual lock itself seizes either in the locked position or the unlocked position. If it's the unlocked position your lucky since all you need to do them is cut the brown wire or pull the fuse, in the locked position you'll have to tow it to Nissan if you can't bang it unlocked, and that repair bill will be upwards of about 1k as previously stated. Anyways I didn't mean to scare you it's a easy fix and don't feel rushed since your lock should be a Rev. C which is a replacement that's supposed to be better than the originals. I have a Rev. C myself and am planning on cutting the brown wire at the actual lock this weekend, just a little peace of mind.

Well thanks for the info guys!! Ill take care of that as soon as I can. Are there any side effects of cutting the wire?

I'm definitely looking at doing a NAV/DVD unit in dash with a back up camera, this car is hard to see out of! After that maybe a CF fang cover and a lip, then ill decide if I want to go any lower. This car BEGS for a new exhaust, I'm leaning towards the Invidia Gemini since it seems to have the best sound for the money, and no drone, which is very important to me.

Nothing I'm aware of other than it's the hardest to reverse, with the fuse pulled you'd just have to pop it back in and it's back to normal. I'm going for the wire cut because it's the easiest IMO.
