New to the forum
Hello all!
I'm new to the 370z, and, well, Nissan in general. I've been a Honda/Acura (gasp!) guy all my life, but their cars have been nothing short of absolutely dissapointing since about 2009, and their future doesn't seem to be any brighter. That being said, I've decided to branch out. My daily driver is still a 2006 6MT Acura TL Dynamic with some basic bolt ons. I also have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T Limited (wife's daily). I had a highly modified/Supercharged 2007 Mazda Miata GT 6MT with the power folding roof that i sold in the spring, which was fun to drive, but I came to the conclusion that "Miata" is NOT the answer to everything car related. While fun to drive, I would have much preferred an s2000, but I'm too tall to fit in one! Just recently, I decided I needed a new toy. The Ford Mustang GT350 was high on my radar but eventually I decided against it due to seeing 1000 new Mustangs a day on the roads, and not wanting to pay that much, for, well, a Mustang, lol. Well, looking for something RWD drive with a 6MT isn't exactly easy anymore. I just so happened to stumble on the 370z and after a lengthy test drive and back and forth considerations, I decided I needed to have one. I ended up with a bright silver, 2016 370z Nismo. I hope to meet more of you on the boards, and I'm sure you'll see a few dumb questions come from me! |

Welcome....I have been a Honda/Acura girl all my life. CRX, Civic w/ GSR swap, GSR, Supercharged TL Types S, Accord blah, blah. When they stopped making the Prelude I was done. Been with Nissan ever since...no regrets. Congrats on the Nismo!

Haha, I had several Hondas too over the years. I think 2008 was the end for me, when Acura killed off the TL-S. Acura's designers must be drinking paint thinner, with the designs they keep putting out, tied to their anemic performance. Their marketing keeps saying fancy things like "it's that kind of thrill" which has become a never ending joke on the Acura forums.
I picked up my Nismo about two months ago, but my account took forever to be approved, so I only started posting today. The car is everything that Honda isn't these days. 6MT? Check. RWD? Check. Forged wheels? Check. DOHC V6 with dual throttle bodies? Check. Actual sport tuned suspension? Check. Racing seats? Check. The list goes on. While some Hondas still have a 6MT, it's generally only on base models. I'm an option whore and I like to stick to the highest trim model possible. No dice with Honda! Anyway, I've read a bit on the boards and I do plan on doing some minor mods. My first mod will be to have the DRLs stay on when the head lights on. Beyond that, I think I'll lower the car about an inch, throw some wheel spacers on, and ever so slightly smoke the tail lights with 3M film. As I get older, the more I want to keep my cars fairly stock. I just feel the Nismo will be worth more over time by doing so. I really like the OEM wheels, but they need to be spaced a bit and of course, the ride height needs to be cleaned up. I considered coils, but I'll never adjust them again as the car will only see sunny days, so I'm not convinced it's worth it. I also love how the stock suspension feels. It'd be nice to get some more noise out the exhaust, but it seems sacrilegious to hack up a factory HKS exhaust.... But we will see Hope to see you around on the boards. Thanks for the welcome! Also, is it possible to post pics on the forum without hosting them on various sites like Photobucket? It's just a pain in the *** to do so |

Welcome brother! Trust me, once you either get an exhaust system or 'hack it up with axle back... you will fall in love all over again. They shouldve come from Nissan sounding like they do with the muffler delete.
