Hello from 370z Enthusiastic and an amateur
Hello People,
I am Santosh, from New Jersey. 4-5 years ago, a Nissan 370z was parked in front of my office and I always wondered if I would own it one day. My then GF, liked only SUV's so we settled on SUV. Now, I am single again, my desire to own this beauty ignited and I might buy a 370z in a week or two. Now, coming to the stupid questions part and more about me I never owned/driven a sports car . I did a test drive of 370z yesterday, exteriors of the car looked good (2012 , Automatic, Metallic Grey, base Coupe) and many questions pop in my head while driving. If you geniuses can please answer , it would be great - The steering was a bit hard, I wonder if it normal in any sports car/370z ? - What are the basic checks I can do to ensure that the car is reliable - what additional maintenance should I buy along with the car Any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Santosh |

Have a qualified mechanic inspect it prior to purchasing. I assume you are not qualified if you are asking what to inspect. Not sure what you mean by purchasing additional maintenance. Like a warranty? Or are you talking about some shady "dealer special" where you get free oil changes for a year or more (except they don't use the oil weight recommended by the manufacturer )? I bought a 100K mile warranty for peace of mind on unexpected repairs (not through the dealer). But I learned to do all the basic maintenance myself - I never even owned a floor jack or jack stands prior to owning the Z. I don't trust dealers - they are too incompetent.

Thank you so much @JARblue.
Yes I meant Warranty , I might buy it from a 3rd party too. Will get the car checked by a certified mechanic. Thank you once again, you people are amazing |

Dealer warranties are fairly comforting for people because they just handle everything. Be careful with 3rd party warranties. They can have fine print that really doesn't give you the coverage you might think you're getting. My credit union (who did the financing) gave me several warranty options, and they happily answered all of my questions to my satisfaction before purchase.
