They need it! Very rough and huge casting marks. When I installed my ported lower I could of ported at least a 1/16-1/8" more of the lower to match the heads. I believe in some nice gains as people have been doing it for years! While there off I'd do a 3 angle valve job and match the entire system. If you can pull the heads yourself it should be a very cheap power increase. I'd love to do it but the VVEL system scares the crap out of me.

Yeah I'm pulling the heads off myself but cheap is not what it's going to be. It's 1000 bucks to Extrude Hone both heads and the 3 angle valve job and assembly is 700. But since I can't find anybody that's done it I'll be the test mule. Pray for some hp gains.

Yeah I know I'm one of those V8 guys but I've had some success with extrude honing. If I'm gonna do it I might as well go all the way. And yes I'm using the same place in California there service and quality are superb. Just wish they still made the Jun exhaust cams now that would be badass!!!!

Do you have to drop the motor to take the heads off? Ive gotten mixed answers. Some say dont drop the motor and some say it comes out without motor removal.

THEY HARDLY NEED IT!! don't listen to syno the heads flow so damn much it's pointless. It won't hurt unless you are oversizing the ports and then you will lose low end velocity. Your money is better spent in other places.
Edit: just for reference the factory heads build power past 9,000 rpm with different exhaust cams, and they outflow the nismo de race heads by a wide margin.
