midpipe isn't catted, just resonators. cats are in front of the midpipe

The exhaust components are as follows:
1. Headers (Long tube types delete the cat) 2. Cat 3. Mid-pipe 4. Axle back (catbacks include everything after the cat) If you install test pipes, mid pipes, and short tails you will have an extremely loud (and imo annoying) exhaust for your car. Some people like it but I don't understand how you would be able to take long trips or listen to music or talk on the phone. |

Alright thanks for the info guys!
But at the end of the day I want to change to tone of my exhaust but I dont want to be stupid loud. Im stock atm with just shorties. But adding the midpipe I wont be stupid loud compare to a straight pipe from the cats. Correct? I mean its a upgrade from stock piping... right? |

As far as I know GarageLine still has resonators on them,so I don't know how much of a sound change there would be, but the performance increase is through the better design of piping X is better than the stock Y design. I feel most of the exhaust note comes from the axle back portions, resonators really are just to help remove harsh and raspy sounds to the overall sound. IMO getting resonated test pipes would be a better upgrade though a little more expensive, you might be able to pickup a second hand pair in the for sale section if your not in a hurry.
